Are Film Schools Still Relevant?

How do you learn to be a filmmaker? Do you pull a Quentin Tarantino and shoot it DIY, or does enrolling in film school still have its value?

The Media Arts Production School has been educating South Australian filmmakers for over thirty years, and have honed their approach to providing not only a technical education but a collaborative, hands on experience, built to bring graduates into the workforce.

Rob Lawry spoke to MAPS certificate manager Leigh Sutton about modern film education and the SA film industry, ahead of MAPS’ open evening on Thursday the 15th.
