The International Youth Silent Film Festival continues tonight and it’s also a plum opportunity to see the Capri Theatre’s prized theater organ in action – and with a master at the keys.
Rob Lawry from Onscreen Offscreen caught up with the festival’s composer and resident organist, Nathan Avakian, to learn the role his music plays in the festival’s filmmakers’ process and explain some of the history behind this unique instrument. This is an extended cut of a story that aired on October 20th.
