Pangkarra Foods – flying higher

There is much said about paddock to plate food, but it can be much harder to do than to talk about.

For Pangkarra Foods, from SA’s Clare agricultural region, it has been a very purposeful strategy.

From their own durum wheat they developed and found a focused corner of the market for high quality pasta.

They kept up with the research and taste trends and diversified into pulses.

Now their characteristic retail snack packets are winning more than passing attention in supermarkets and specialty shops… and served on board an international airline.

Coming from a career in brewing and marketing, Sam Maitland has now joined the family business to consolidate and extend the Pangkarra business.

He joined Radio Adelaide’s Gastronaut team broadcasting direct from the Royal Adelaide Show.
