Uncle Vince Coulthard, long-time director of Umeewarra Aboriginal Media Service in Port Augusta, reflects on his 32-year journey amplifying Aboriginal voices and preserving cultural narratives.
In an interview with Nanawun Kaldowinyeri, he highlights the success of the recent Umeewarra Downtown 2025 event, which showcased local and high-profile talent like Troy Cassar-Daley, Dem Mob, Tyson Feilding, Club Umee and the Calton School students to name a few attracting over 100,000 views.
Uncle Vince also emphasises the importance of language preservation through music and shares his passion for community engagement.
Looking ahead, he encourages participation in upcoming events such as Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC, and the Nunga Carnival in Port Augusta.
