‘Humanity in Living and Dying’ is an exhibition created by 2024 SALA Artist In Residence, Dr Daniel Connell (pictured) and is as much about the process of creating the art than it is about outcome of the process. Host of Art Throb, David Jobling, discussed Dr Connell’s ‘Arts in Health at Flinders Medical Centre’ residency which provides a practicing South Australian artist the opportunity to immerse themselves in a hospital environment, or as is the case in this situation, a hospice, where people are receiving palliative care.
The residency will culminate in the ‘Humanity in Living and Dying’ exhibition in the hospital during SALA Festival.
