Welcome To Country/Running On Empty

Art Throb’s David Jobling stopped by for the Opening of 2024 South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) at the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA) to have a few words with 2022 Guildhouse Fellow, Tom Phillips, whose work Running On Empty presented by the Art Gallery of South Australia, Guildhouse and the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation, is on exhibit at AGSA part of the SALA Festival. Running On Empty (pictured) runs through to 31 October and will be officially opened Fri 2 Aug 5-9pm as part of the AGSA First Friday Program.


The SALA Festival is open in South Australia from 1 – 31 August and involves upward of 10,000 artists and makers. Jobling also listened in on the Welcome To Country from proud Kaurna, Narungga, Ngarrindjeri, Ngadjuri and Arrente Man, Cliffy ‘ Tangku Munaitya‘ Wilson, plus remarks from (in order) Bridget Alfred the Interim CEO, SALA Festival, Emma Fey the AGSA Acting Director and Premier The Hon Peter Malinauskas MP and shares those remarks here.
