Art Throb’s David Jobling spoke with Cirque Du Soleil publicist Charlie Wagner and National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) Graduate Nelson Smyles who performs in Luzia as a hoop jumping hummingbird, about their career pathways into one of the world’s most loved post-modern circus organisations. Nelson started gymnastics training at a very early age when his mother sent him off to burn up some of his four-year-old energy, and he hasn’t looked back. The show Luzia heads off to Perth after finishing it’s Adelaide season on July 7th.
