“Esteemed citizens” day in court

Four members of Extinction Rebellion SA were recently sentenced to community service. No fines, no jail. Magistrate Wells spoke highly of the 4 rebels, called them “esteemed citizens” and seemed quite comfortable with their act of civil disobedience.
