Mabel Gibson: WW1, WW2, Rural family life

For Mabel Gibson growing up in Rural Australia in the period between World Wars One and Two was a time where lack of work simply meant packing up the family and moving to a new town for a better life. Her Dad’s enlistment application for WW1 was rejected, but he managed to get into the Army during WW2 and he and the family contributed greatly to the war effort from rural Victoria.
