Rocket Launches on a Heritage and Conservation Site?

A private company, Southern Launch, has already conducted test sites at Whaler’s Way, a privately-owned conservation area at the Southern tip of Eyre Peninsula. The proposal is to build a large spaceport, capable of conducting weekly launches. Locals and others are concerned about the threat to endangered species, as well as the overall degradation of a pristine heritage site. Barometer’s Barry Mitchell spoke to a representative of the Eyre Peninsula Environmental Protection Alliance, Isaac Taylor, as well as SA Greens MLC Tammy Franks.
