Art, Wildfires and Healing

Lara Tilbrook is an artist and a landowner who survived the huge bushfires in western Kangaroo Island 2 summers back. Lara’s response was to help to kick off the North West Cultural Burning Project, based on traditional indigenous methods of using fire to care for country and avoid destructive wildfires. Stage 1 has been completed, including visits and workshops led by Victor Steffenson of the Firestick Alliance. Now Lara is getting stuck into her art practice in a big way.
