In 1950 the classic film ‘All About Eve’ premiered in Paris and New York. The film, starring Bette Davis and Anne Baxter, cleaned up at the Academy Awards taking home six awards including Best Picture.
In 1943 Italy declared war on their former Axis alliance, Nazi Germany, in the middle of the Second World War. This was in response to Hitler’s intention to invade Italy to prevent it from becoming an Allied power.
In 2019 the incredible athlete, Simone Biles, became the most decorated gymnast in history, which is a title she continues to hold today. The 24-year-old Olympian won her 25th medal at the World Championships in Germany in 2019.
In 1966 music history was made when the Jimi Hendrix Experience debuted in Normandy, France. The group included bassist Noel Redding, drummer Mitch Mitchell, and of course legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix himself.
