Making Space for Women in Jazz
Posted on: Fri 1 Oct 2021
Last week the Women In Jazz Adelaide group held a discussion panel of female jazz musicians in Adelaide to open up the conversation on how we can better support women in music spaces.
The group was started by two University of Adelaide students trying to tackle the issues facing women and gender diverse people in jazz.
In such a historically male-dominated space, how do we create safe spaces for all people to be included in jazz and music?
Women in Jazz Adelaide founders Charlotte Kowald and Ruby Mensforth join Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Shannon Pearce to discuss the challenges women and gender diverse people face in jazz.
