Nuclear Submarine Pact

Last week, Australia’s federal government announced they will acquire nuclear-powered submarines through a defense pact made with the UK and US.
While the idea of nuclear energy has been hotly debated for many years, some claim this new naval technology is an opportunity to further develop our own nuclear industry.
Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis spoke to emeritus professor in the School of Natural Sciences at Griffith University, Professor Ian Lowe about the issue.
