Healing from trauma with EMDR
Posted on: Fri 3 Sep 2021
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, is a psychotherapy treatment that can reduce distressing emotions associated with traumatic memories.
Recently, in an intimate interview between Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey on their new docuseries “The Me You Can’t See”, Harry revealed his experience with the therapy, bringing it further into public discourse.
Dr Peta Stapleton, Associate Professor in Psychology at Bond University, joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Paul Davies to explore how EMDR differs from talk-based therapies in helping people cope with trauma.
