Aimee Volkofsky’s bone-rattling tales
Posted on: Thu 12 Aug 2021
Musician Aimee Volkofsky was born and raised in the arid lands of western New South Wales, on the banks of the Barka.
She sings songs of dust, ghosts, and the harsh realities of life in the bush. Aimee’s songwriting weaves together folk, country, and blues into a tapestry of new and old, in reverence to the ancient beauty of the Australian landscape.
Pink Rabbit’s Soph Landau caught up with Aimee ahead of her gig with local musician Jimmybay at the Uraidla Institute on Friday August 20th from 6:30pm.
Aimee began by telling us about herself, before exploring her journey as a musician, what inspires her tales, and some tunes live in the studio.
