During the 2016 census we learned 116,427 Australians are struggling with homelessness, meaning that one in 200 Australians are experiencing homelessness and live without a roof over their heads.
For Homelessness week, The Big Issue is going beyond statistics to hear the stories of people who have lived without a home. MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo also heads the cover of this issue to share his own experiences with homelessness.
Alongside Jocke, this issue also features writer Tilly Lawless, bestselling authors Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist, director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and soul singer Ngaiire.
Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis join Amy Hetherington from the Big issue to discuss these stories and more.
