Lack of focus and engagement has always been one of the biggest hurdles to overcome in education. With social media and streaming services becoming more significant in our lives, so has their grip on our attention.
While these distractions have always been a challenge, gamers are able to achieve a ‘state of flow’ to completely engage in the task at hand.
Breakfast’s Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann are joined by Victoria University of Wellington senior lecturer in software engineering Dr Simon McCallum to talk about how video games could improve learning engagement.
