On this day in 1892, one of the world’s first film studios was officially established in Melbourne. The studio was called The Limelight Department and was operated by the Salvation Army.
In 1993, Jurassic Park was released to American theatres. Based on a novel of the same name, Jurassic Park grossed US$912 million during its original theatrical run.
In 2002, the first ever episode of American Idol aired.
