Gender expression – the binary and beyond

The gender binary is a social construct that has influenced people to believe in there being a female and male gender identity. Through this, society has created ways in which we view certain types of expression as feminine and masculine.
But as generations have started to become more open-minded to the different ways we dress, spend our time, and overall, how we choose to live our lives, life is starting to head beyond the binary. But this still doesn’t mean that everyone is comfortable expressing themselves.
So what does it mean when you don’t ‘fit’ within the binary? And how can you express this?
