Ground-breaking nanotech could make cystic fibrosis antibiotic far more effective

Posted on: Thu 27 May 2021

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that affects one baby born every four days, and severely impairs the lungs, airways and digestive system.

A team of researchers from UniSA have been working to develop pioneering technology that could make an antibiotic used to treat severe lung conditions up to a hundred thousand times more effective, transforming the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.

PhD candidate Chelsea Thorn who is part of the team leading this research, joins us to discuss this. Good morning Chelsea.
