Warren Bishop GPCAPT: The WAAAF 1941 – 1947

They enlisted in their thousands when Australia needed them, despite substantial political, service and societal opposition, and became the women of the Women’s Auxiliary Australian Air Force, helping to steer Australia to victory in WW11. It was the first and largest of the wartime Australian women’s services. In this very special Centennial year of the formation of our RAAF, we are delighted to learn more about the women of the WAAAF!
