A recently proposed bill sought to amend the Migration Act, with dire implications for refugees.
Following a senate inquiry, the bill was met with strong opposition from Labor, the Greens, and various human rights advocates including the Refugee Council for Australia.
Meanwhile, President Biden has announced that the U.S. will commit to rebuilding their refugee resettlement program.
