The Simpsons is a great example that quality should be valued over quantity.

Today marks the anniversary of when The Simpsons became the longest-running prime-time animated series in 1997.

In the episode, Crusty the Clown threatens to axe the show ‘Itchy and Scratchy’ due to bad ratings. Coincidentally, this was when The Simpsons began to lose its impact on audiences.

So, perhaps the creators of our favourite animated family predicted the future decline of the show.

In other news, it has been 130 years since the first shipment of asparagus, arriving in San Francisco.
