In 1905, in St Petersburg, Russia, troops fired on protesters in what became known as ‘Bloody Sunday’.
In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court issued one of its most momentous decisions, ruling in Roe v. Wade.
In 1971, John Lennon and Yoko Ono recorded “Power to the People”.
