Folsom Prison Blues

On this day in 1968, Johnny Cash and his band went to Folsom Prison in California to perform a live set for the inmates living there.
The wholesome act gave those with little hope a chance to enjoy live music and put a smile on their face, even if only for an hour.
The experience had its hurdles, with band members accidentally bringing items into a prison, which are certainly not allowed in a prison, including marijuana and a gun.
‘At Folsom Prison’ became one of the best recorded live performances of all time, escalating Cash’s success and giving him the recognition he deserves as an artist.
