New asthma treatments on the horizon

Posted on: Fri 8 Jan 2021

According to Asthma Australia, over 11% of Australians live with Asthma – and 13% of South Australians manage the chronic condition.

Between 2017 and 2018, just under 39,000 Australians were hospitalised due to the condition, however new research into asthma attacks could guide the development of therapies for asthma attacks when steroids are often ineffective.

Dr Ming Yang, Senior Lecturer from the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy at the University of Newcastle, joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to discuss the findings.
