On this day in 1913, Arthur Wynne produced the first crossword puzzle, which was published in the newspaper New York World. Also, on this day in 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first long animated feature, premiered in Los Angeles, California. Finally, on this day in 1970, Elvis Presley met President Richard Nixon at the White House with a letter in which the entertainer slammed The Beatles for their anti-American spirit.
