Dr Steph Hodson: 24hr coping strategies with Open Arms

Posted on: Mon 14 Dec 2020

Looking after your wellbeing and staying connected is the basis for getting through difficult times says the National Manager of Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling, Stephanie Hodson, a 26 year ADF Veteran.

A tumultuous year for all Australians has meant that Open Arms have had to increase their staffing levels to support the Veteran Community coping with those additional pressures on their lives of Covid-19, bushfires, floods, and the Brereton report.

Steph says there’s a real will out there to support our Veteran Community.  Among many things she tells Listeners about Check Five, and how everyone can get involved…  it’s a system of support that started in Townsville as a suicide prevention strategy.

No Veteran family is alone.  24 hour support is available.
