Although the $550 a fortnight COVID supplement this winter just transformed life for so many households that supplement was cut by $300 in September and just after Xmas it will be cut again by another $100 until March and then ….. who knows? For 1.8 million Australians dependent on JobSeeker it’s a nerve wracking time. Most economists now support a permanent rise to the Jobseeker rate. Rita and Sarah are two experts among many campaigning for a permanent change to this poverty trap. They spoke with Nicky Page on Monday Packed Lunch.
