On this day in history;
In 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected the 16th President of the United States.
In 1913, Mahatma Gandhi was arrested for leading an Indian miners’ march in South Africa.
In 1975, the very first performance by the English punk rock band Sex Pistols took place at Saint Martins College in London. The band went on to define the punk genre and movement in the UK.
