Dr Tom Lewis OAM: Teddy Sheean RAN WW2 – The Victoria Cross

It’s a sad fact that, despite amazing acts of bravery and sacrifice, no member of the Royal Australian Navy had been awarded the Victoria Cross, that is…  until this year, when Edward “Teddy” Sheean, one of the youngest and most inexperienced sailors on board the Corvette HMAS Armidale during World War 11, posthumously received this most prestigious of awards.  Dr Tom Lewis tells us the story.
