In 2012, Women’s rights and education activist Malala Yousafzai was shot three times by a Taliban gunman as she tried to board her school bus in the Swat district of northwest Pakistan.

In 1969, Diana Ross and The Supremes released their hit “Someday We’ll Be Together”; their final song together before Ross embarked on a solo career.
