Female Genitalia and Self Image

Studies show that females and increasingly younger women are becoming self-conscious about the appearance of their genitalia. This has led to an increase in the cosmetic surgery, labioplasty, which involves the augmentation of the inner lips of the vulva.
Gemma Sharp, NHMRC Early Career Senior Research Fellow at Monash University joins Breakfast’s Tom and Zoe to discuss why these insecurities are becoming more prevalent and how they plan to address these issues.
