Energy plan fails to move away from fossil fuels

Posted on: Fri 18 Sep 2020

This week The Morrison Government announced they’re investing in new and emerging technologies that will support jobs, strengthen our economy, and reduce emissions.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the $1.9 billion investment package in future technologies to lower emissions would back jobs now and into the future, cut costs for households and improve the reliability of our energy supply.

But the Australian Conservation Foundation says the plan undermines the work renewables are doing by failing to move away from fossil fuels.

Australian Conservation Foundation’s climate program manager Gavan McFadzean speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to unpack the plan.
