On This Day;
In 1979 at 2:00am, two East German families successfully crossed the border to West Germany – via a homemade hot air balloon. Three balloons were made, with the final leading to a successful 25 minute voyage of 8 people.
In 1977, Marc Bolan – heading home from Mortons club and restaurant with Gloria Jones – died in a car accident, leaving behind a great glam-rock legacy that continues to inspire artists.
