Meanwhile housing also known as property guardianship is a form of housing that converts properties that are unoccupied, dormant or awaiting redevelopment into temporary accommodation, shopping venues and workspaces.
Currently, this housing scheme is legally recognised as a tenure solution for vacant buildings across Europe and the UK.
Cathy Smith, senior lecturer of Interior Architecture at the University of New South Wales joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to tell us more about meanwhile housing.
