On this day in history;
In 1909, New Jersey citizen Alice Ramsey embarked on a 59 day, 6115 kilometre transcontinental trip with three friends. In a publicity stunt for the Maxwell Motor Company, she became the first women to travel across America by car.
In 1997, during U2’s extravagant ‘PopMart’ tour, a technical malfunction prevented the band from emerging from their giant mechanical lemon.
