HomeBuilder Helping Independence

The Coalition’s new HomeBuilder stimulus predominantly aims to stimulate the Australian economy and housing sector while also creating innumerable construction jobs.
But research from the University of Technology in Sydney has found that home improvements may concurrently facilitate independent living for Australia’s retired, disabled and unwell, reducing the dependence on carers.
Phillippa Carnemolla, Senior Research Fellow, School of the Built Environment, University of Technology Sydney, joined Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to elaborate on these opportunities offered with the HomeBuilder stimulus.
