30 years ago, researchers at the University of New South Wales developed an incredibly efficient means of converting energy from the sun into electricity.
The breakthrough invention, the PERC Silicon Solar Cell, comfortably beats out other forms of electricity generation and is deployed globally.
Andrew Blakers, Professor of Engineering at the Australian National University joins Breakfast’s Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann to explain it all.
