On this day;

In 1942, Enrico Fermi, Italian-born Nobel Prize-winning physicist, directed and controlled the first nuclear chain reaction in his laboratory at the University of Chicago, ushering in the nuclear age.

In 1972, the Temptations earned the last of their four chart-topping hits when “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone” reaches #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
