In 1963, three days after his assassination in Dallas, Texas, John F. Kennedy was laid to rest with full military honours at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
In 1999, The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution designating November 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
