Bolivian U.N. Ambassador: “Racist Elite” Engineered Coup
Posted on: Sun 24 Nov 2019
Last week in Bolivia, socialist President Evo Morales was deposed in a coup. Sacha Llorenti, Bolivia’s U.N. ambassador since 2012, spoke to Democracy Now’s Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez.
“They’ve already started different policies that want to restore neoliberalism in Bolivia” he says. He labelled those who engineered the coup, a “racist elite” in the country.
Bolivia has a majority indigenous population, with Evo Morales being its first indigenous president.
