Land tax reforms and public housing

Public submissions have closed on the State Government’s controversial land tax bill, which aims to close a loop hole in the aggregation of land value and to raise revenue to fund vital services.
Greg Ogle, Policy Co-Director at SACOSS, says while the land tax reforms are to be applauded, they are also narrow in focus and represent a lost opportunity to do more far-reaching work, such as increasing public housing stock.
