First Australian generation to be worse off

With older Australians today have substantially greater wealth, income and expenditure, compared with Australians of the same age decades earlier, Australia’s youth are facing the uncomfortable scenario of being the first generation to be worse off than the one before them.
Jarrod Ball, Chief Economist from the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, explains the details of this scenario and the issues that young Australians will eventually face such as an ageing population and the effects of climate change.
