Sixty-five Indigenous and non-indigenous students met at the Garma festival to write their own follow up to the 2017 Uluru Statement from the Heart.
The students, aged year six to twelve, named it the Imagination Declaration.
It challenges the government to include young people, especially indigenous young people, in decision making.
Marnee Shay, senior lecturer at the University of Queensland’s School of Education joined Tom and Zoe on Breakfast to talk more about the topic.
