BHP Plots New Tailings Storage at Olympic Dam

BHP Billiton is planning to build a new tailings dam at their Olympic Dam. The project comes after the Brumadinho dam disaster in Brazil and an audit which found that four of BHP’s Australian dams were rated at high to extreme risk.
David Noonan is a long-time environment campaigner and has built his career advocating for the public interest, the intrinsic value of the environment and the rights of traditional owners. He joined packed lunch to discuss BHP’s proposal for a new tailings dam.
