Listening and truth-telling on Ngarrindjeri country
Posted on: Wed 29 May 2019
Sean Weetra is a young Ngarrindjeri man from Raukkan, in the South East of South Australia.
He is inviting community members to join him for Ngopun Ruwangk (Walking on Country), which will start at Murray Bridge and finish at Raukkan – situated on the shore of Lake Alexandrina.
He’s speaks to Small Change‘s Lisa Burns about the honour and importance of sharing the stories of his family and people to others – including the telling of truths that have been unspoken for so long – and the pertinence of this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage.
