The Australian public views refugees as a ‘critical threat’ to modern democratic society.
In the context of threats like environmental crisis, economic decline and the US presidency, why should refugees be seen as such a worry, unfairly perceived as economic parasites, criminals and hordes of invaders who are prone to radicalism?
Nava shares his own experience as a Sri Lankan refugee within the Australian immigration system, recounting the lack of humanity and justice within the government he has faced on his journey from ethnic persecution with Letitia McNamara.
