More support to Raise the Rate

Two weeks ago, a forum was held at the National Wine Centre that looked into the social and economic benefits of increasing the rate of the Newstart payment.
Participants in the forum shared insights on topics like housing availability and cost, the lack of available jobs and the impact raising the rate would have on health and wellbeing.
It also featured speakers from ACOSS, Deloitte Access Economics, Anti-Poverty Network SA and philanthropic organisation The Wyatt Trust.
Paul Madden, Chief Executive of The Wyatt Trust joins Small Change‘s Ross Womersley to chat more about the forum and why he is backing the call to strengthen the income support system.
